Balancing Act!

My friend in Texas sent me this roller skate card. She is very prophetic and each year I look forward to her prayers and insight for the year ahead.

Then God gave a dream to another friend about me. I was in a hospital room with the door cracked open. A whiteboard had my name written on it. My friend was calling out my name over and over. She pushed open the door and saw me working out on my balance disk. I had a new hair style that was cut shorter.

Why am I telling you about these events? Because I ask God to direct my path every day, which means nothing in my life is an accident. I had hip surgery almost three years ago. Then I had a horrible fall from playing pickleball which took over nine months to recover from. Part of the recovery was working out on the balance disk to stretch out my leg and recover from the planter fascia (foot arch pain). Between the physical therapy and the balance exercises my hips, legs and feet have gained new strength and balance.

Going through so much physical trauma causes you to be cautious. Then we got four to five feet of snow the day after Thanksgiving which happened over a six-day period. Some days I would go out and shovel three times a day. Instead of complaining, I prayed four separate times for help. Each time I prayed God provided different people to come and help dig me out.

Tales of Woe or Bridges to Victory?

I know this sounds like a tale of woe, but it isn’t! In this season of recovery (hospital room) and balance (exercises on disk), God is using all these events to remove fear, strengthen us in our faith, keeping us in balanced by relying on Him and not our own ability.

The new hair cut (in the dream) is a symbol of a new covering for this new season we are in right now. The roller skates are muti-colored which symbolizes the Jospeh anointing which is knowing how to walk in the shifting cultural season we are living in right now.

Joseph lived under slave traders, one of Pharaoh’s captains, a prison warden, and Pharaoh. He knew how to shift with the changing cultures without compromising. He maintained a balance of staying in God’s timing and speaking when God opened the doors. He was wise as a serpent, which means knowing he is in the presence of God’s enemy and relying on God’s wisdom on how to win over the worldly mindsets. He acted as harmless as a dove by focusing on what God wanted and not what he thought was best. The worldly rulers gave Jospeh favor because they knew he wanted God’s best for them.

As we walk through this shifting season of cultural and spiritual changes, God is giving us an ability to know what to say when He opens the door. It will take us some training and recovery time to be ready to walk out this new adventure, but the rewards are great. To be able to tap into God’s supernatural walk, we need to let go and let God have control. He is the judge of the world. Our job is to imitate Jesus and walk in love. This will open the door to many opportunities and release God’s supernatural power to change things.

What does keeping your balance mean? It is trusting in a God who works all things, not just good things for our good. He takes everything tossed at us and uses it to overcome fears, strengthen weak areas, and create a bridge to victory.

Prayer

Father God,

You are so gracious and kind to send help and give us wisdom. We are asking for wisdom, strength, and balance in this shifting time. Reveal to us how to walk in your timing. Give us Your wisdom to know when to speak and when to be quiet. Let the anointing of Joseph be released in our lives. Help us to let go of all the lies we might have believed. Give us the boldness and courage to step out and accomplish Your will on earth. We invite the Holy Spirit to guide and direct our lives. We ask you Jesus, to be our Leader as we walk these new paths. Help us to allow the love of God, which has been placed in our hearts, to be released as compassion to those around us so that the captives can be set free. Because of Jesus, amen!
