What Do You SEE!

I was talking to God about how this preacher I know always starts with a few jokes. I don’t really know any jokes that I can remember. Then this question came to me.

If ten one-pound fish are added together, how much does a ten-pound fish weight? The answer is ten pounds. I said to God, but the answer is the same whether you add the ten one-pound fish or the right answer which is a ten-pound fish. I was thinking this is an odd question to ask.

Then I had this thought from the Spirit of Wisdom. “This is a season where the answer may seem right, but you miss the point. Ten one-pound fish look a lot different than one ten-pound fish.

Why ask a question that appears to have the same answer? We are in a season that we need to hear the question. We need to think beyond the obvious answer.

Jesus used parables to make us think and to hide God’s wisdom from those who were not hungry for the truth. Truth without wisdom lead you down a wrong path. Just look at the Pharisees. They study the Bible but couldn’t see the Messiah, who was right in front of them.

This is a season that God is requiring us to think outside our religious mindsets. He has so much more for us than we are able to receive. But to receive God’s best, we have to be able to hear by removing the old mindsets. Then we will see the new paths we need to walk in.

It is a season of letting go of the ten small visions. It is a time to jump into the water over our heads to reach the bigger plans God has for us. Are you willing to let go of the old? Will you come out on the water with Jesus to do the impossible?

Prayer

Father God,

Remove any hindrances that would block us from hearing the question? Give us ears to hear your kingdom truth. Open our eyes to see the path you have for us in this new season. Remove the shackles of fear so we can walk on the water to follow Jesus. We ask for your grace, peace and joy as we choose to step out on the water of uncertainty. Your love never fails and you will keep us safe. Because of the price Jesus paid and empowered by Holy Spirit, amen!
