The Fall of Babylon — Part One

I have tried to model my life around how Jesus ministered in the earth. His whole life was a prophetic act. His birth, moving to Egypt to save his life, and at the age of twelve him talking to the religious leaders. Sometime between the age of twelve and thirty, Jesus’s earthly father, Joseph died. He became the head of the household because he was the first born. While providing for the family, Mary must have seen Jesus do miracles for provision. How else would Mary know that Jesus could turn water into wine?

Why am I pointing out the first thirty years of Jesus’s life? I want people to know that God uses people behind the scene. Just because others don’t see what you are doing doesn’t mean that God is not using you. Many times, we compare ourselves to the church leaders when that is not our sphere of influence. Elijah went to live with a widow-women not a spiritual leader. God used homes to spread the gospel not the synagogue in the New Testament. Am I against church? No! I am just wanting you to think outside of the box that God can only use you in a church.

I was watching some online churches that I love and have even gone to their events. I honor what they have accomplished, and they have helped me understand the gifts of God for His people. But as I watched, I realized that I could not relate to what they were doing. I understood what was going on and knew God was moving. I accepted the words given but all the emotion and hype were bothering me. This was strange because I used to enjoy going to these events. I felt like I was watching great showmanship. I am not saying this is what it was, but this is how I felt about it. I know better than to judge other ministries. I am allowed to check their fruit (see fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5:22-23). So, I asked God why this was happening.

What’s Happening God?

I realized that what the church was doing would not translate well in my circles of influence. Circles of influence or as some people call it the “1Seven Mountain” are broken down into different spheres of influence. They are Business, Arts & Entertainment, Media (Communication), Education, Family, Religion and Government. We all have a different place where we live and have influence. The religious mountain is only one mountain. You can look at it as cultural differences. Shouting and dancing may be acceptable in the religious circles and entertainment, but it wouldn’t translate well in the business mountain.

God is defining cultural differences. It is not that one culture is better than the other but has to do with function and where we fit in the Body of Christ. Eyes cells need to be with eyes. Liver cells need to be with livers, etc. A man’s eye cell needs to be connected to his eye to function. Do I have you totally confused? Not to worry. You just need to find your function and belong to the right body. 2Joyce Meyers said it this way. An eagle living with chickens will never reach its full potential and never fit in with the other chickens. Christians are the Body of Christ but just as God created twelve tribes, we need to find our tribe.

What does this have to do with Babylon Falling?

The COVID-19 virus has shut down the world. It has caused us to rethink how we do things. It has caused divisions and camps that have drawn lines in the sand and have made us take sides. Before COVID-19, our world had open borders to travel, trade and make agreements. Now borders are shut, and some countries are off limits. The American dream of prosperity has spread the love of money to other nations and unlimited access to both the good and evil. We had come into agreement to build our own kingdom of wealth, power, and influence. This is why the Tower of Babel was built. All this building our own kingdom was disrupted by the COVID-19. It has been used to stop the spread of the corrupt covenant agreements with the world. The pressure of the isolation is being used to reveal the hearts of men.

New Boundaries with Cultural Connections!

Now God is revealing boundaries and culture differences to set us in our place of destiny. People are fleeing the cities and moving to smaller towns to escape the chaos. People are scattering and finding the place where they belong. This is what happened at the Tower of Babel. God scattered the people to keep them from building a culture built on human strength and wisdom.

God is using all this chaos and movement to bring a distinction between the different mountains of influence and cultures. People are finding their tribes or people groups. During this time of transition, we must be careful to let go, move-on, and not judge those who may be called to stay. It is a new era and time for the new wineskin. The old will not fit in this new adventure. You don’t want to be turned into a pillar of salt like Lot’s wife, who wouldn’t let go of the old.

Babylon is being removed and God is using this virus to reset us back to His destiny and plans. God is removing the cancer that is eating away at His Body of Christ and healing us. Boundaries are changing and we do not fit in the old places anymore. You can feel the pressure of dissatisfaction and differences. We need to find our people group to fit and function in God’s kingdom. In God’s kingdom it is placing Jesus first even before all the good things in our life. Our hearts are crying out to be a part of the bigger picture, but we need to be willing to move where God wants us to move. Are you willing?

Prayer

Father God,

Help! All this confusing and chaos. I repent for any part that I had in building the world’s system. I want what is Your best plan for my life, my family, friends, and community. I am not sure where or how to connect. I want to be in the right place at the right time. I need to know how to let go of those who are not going the same direction that You have for me. I need to connect to the right people group so that my gifts will be used to build Your kingdom. I am asking for Your wisdom and strength to do this. I am willing to let go and move on.

This isn’t just for my benefit, but I am asking for my circle of influences. We all needs to be connected to our people group so that we can have Your best in our lives. Remove the agreement of the world’s view from us and cause us to see what Your path is for us. Forgive us for allowing any access of this tree of knowledge of good and evil to dictate our viewpoint. We want to see how Jesus sees. In Jesus’s name, amen!
