Do you every feel like you are going to lose all control? You would just love to slap some sense into someone. Have you ever been mad at God? Ok you religious people, don’t shut down at this statement. Jesus questioned why he felt forsaken by God. We all have feelings. You can stuff them for only so long until you have a mental melt down.
During this time of isolation and feeling trapped, all these feeling that you have kept buried deep in a corner of “do not touch” are now coming to the surface. Guess what? We sometimes have to go through the valley of the shadow of death to reveal and remove attitudes, hurts, anger, bitterness, and resentment. Welcome to God being a Father! He loves you too much for you to keep all these poisons hidden away.
Trapped in Cycles of Anger
One of those closets that need cleaning out is being mad at others. When you judge or remain mad at someone, that means you are their judge. This is a trap! It links you to that person and allows how they act to dictate your reaction. Being willing to forgive allows God to come on the scene. He redeems the injustice or heals the wounds. What was meant for your harm becomes a catalyst for promotion and victory. Going through a valley of darkness means there is a banquet table prepared for you, and your enemies get to watch your success. Now that is justice. If you want to take it a step further and walk in the kingdom of God, you share your food with them. That is kingdom victory.
It is alright to be angry, frustrated, hurt, and mad. It isn’t alright to stay that way. Here are some steps to help you get through the process of spring cleaning.
• Be honest with God on how you are feeling toward yourself and others.
• Talk to him about your disappointments in yourself, and in others.
• Ask him to change your attitude and remove these hurts.
• Ask him to know his love in a deeper way.
• Ask him for grace to change and walk in his love.
• Write down the disappointments, hurts, anger, resentment, etc. Then give it to God. As an act of faith that you have let these poison go, you can burn up the note. In Isaiah, it talks about turning ashes into beauty. When you turn it over to God, he can make it work to your good.
Shifting Your Focus!
Now it is time to change your focus. Talk to God about all the wonderful things he has done in your life. Write down answered prayers that come to you. This will stir up your spirit and joy will begin to bubble up. Praise and worship will start to flow and the peace of God which passes understanding will be in your heart. You will no longer be carrying the heavy burden of injustice and unforgiveness.
After walking many years with God, I want you to know this is normal to feel discouraged, disappointed and be resentful. This is from walking in the world. We need a spring cleaning to get the world and its attitudes off us.
Victory Around the Corner!
On a brighter note, if you want to slap someone that usually means God is answering your prayers. Satan is trying to make you mad at the person. He wants to get you out of faith. It is the same with other things we have prayed about. If you are getting discouraged and want to quit, usually this means the answer is right around the corner.
Hang in there! You got this! God is spring cleaning so he can become bigger in your life.
Declaration
I speak strength, peace, joy, and release the love of God on you. May you feel the hugs of Holy Spirit. May the path Jesus has already made for you be clear and free of debris.

I just love God’s perfect timing. Only He knows the perfect time to reveal what we thought was “already taken care of,” to some “left-over residuals” that need to be healed and released. God’s continual goodness overflows within us to release complete and total healings, enabling us to walk in perfect health and wholeness.
