Many of us wrestle with where we fit in and where we have influence. We pray the word of God and at times we see nothing happen. We wonder why we end up in spiritual warfare that seems to beat us down. Not knowing how to walk through our life in the spiritual boundaries God has set isn’t as complicated as it seems. When I hit a path in my life that doesn’t make sense, I look at how Jesus walked on this earth to receive answers.
Jesus didn’t set out to fulfill the prophecies about the Messiah, which are over 200 to 300 prophecies. Jesus only did what his Father assigned him to do. He knew his boundaries or to whom he was sent to help. A good example of this is at the pool of Bethesda where multitudes of people were gathered to be healed when an angel stirred up the water. Jesus only healed one person! People wonder why we can’t go into hospitals and heal all the sick!
Another good example is the cripple man at the temple gate called beautiful. This crippled man was brought to the gate every day to beg. Jesus and the apostle had to pass through this gate many different times. It wasn’t until Peter and John walked by, after Jesus’s death and resurrection, that this cripple man was healed.
Divine Connections!
When Jesus torn down strongholds in regions it was because God sent him to a key person who got delivered from wrong spiritual influences. That person’s testimony changed the cultural atmosphere in that town. An example of this is when Jesus spoke to the Samaritan women at the well. Jesus was used to heal the trauma and guilt of being rejected by previous husbands. She then was used to open the door for Jesus to change a cultural mindset in Samaria. His presence revealed that God hadn’t forgotten them. This incident also changed the mindset of the apostles on who Samaritans were to God.
When Jesus sent the apostles to crossover the Red Sea, this gave time for Jesus to be alone with God to get strategy and strength for the next assignment. Jesus walked on the water in a storm! Why could he do this? He tapped into God’s peace which calms storms. God fits your feet with the gospel of peace which means everywhere you walk in earthly places; you can bring God’s peace (Ephesians 6:15).
The first time Jesus walked on water, he arrived in Gadarenes where two demon-possessed men met him (Matthew 8:18, 23-34). He delivered the men by allowing the demons to go into a herd of pigs. For this act of deliverance, the whole town asked him to leave the region. In Mark 5:1-20, one of the demon-possessed men wanted to go with Jesus after his deliverance. Jesus instructed this man to go to his own people and give his testimony. Later, in Matthew 14:22-36 Jesus returned to that city and the town people brought all their sick to him.
The storms of life are meant to stop you from God given assignments and meeting key people. It isn’t the number of people you touch in life as much as it is key people God places in your life. You may not even recognize them or have a relationship with them. Only God knows how much our obedience causes His Kingdom to bring change. God is our Accountant. Don’t let the world’s standard dictate your understanding of success. Jesus used twelve messed up men to change the world.
Prayer
Father God,
Your word says in Proverbs 3:3-6 NIV, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” I am choosing to trust you and I give you permission to direct my path. I want the supernatural life of divine appointments and provision. Help me overcome religious mindset and past traumas that have caused me to see the life you have provided in a tainted way. I am choosing to put on your armor to walk out my life protected and ready for this walk with Jesus. I ask for Holy Spirit to direct and empower me to overcome the obstacles in my path. Because of Jesus, amen!
