When a shift in the season changes the cultural atmosphere, we need to change our thinking. An easy way to look at this cultural shift is changing summer clothes to winter clothes. You can wear summer clothes in the winter but you will be cold and uncovered.
Since leadership has changed in our nation, we need to understand how to walk in this season of change. A good example of this is how Joseph walked through each change in his circumstances. First, you must know that God is a big God. He plays chess on over a thousand boards at a time. He knows our moves and decisions before we do. You block him one way and he will already have ten steps to win another way. He is a big picture God.
I know most people see Joseph as prideful when he explains his dreams to his family. It could be true but I see him as naïve. Naïve means a lack of experience, wisdom, or innocent. When you are naïve it can mean you can’t spot liars. It would never occur to you to lie. You can’t see when someone is having an affair because it isn’t on your radar. You would never have an affair. Joseph was blinded by innocents. If he had been prideful, he would have taken Potiphar’s wife up on her advances towards him. He would never have helped Potiphar to prosper but would have stolen from him or run away.
Many of us Christians have been naïve. It is hard to process what is happening in our nation. It is time to wake up and be as wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove. This last four years has wakened a sleeping giant of the middle class who have lost their voice to a few anarchist groups who want to destroy our Christian values. It is too late! We are out of the box and our voices will be heard. The following information will explain how we take back our land.
Joseph had to shift from being a favored son to being betrayed by his brothers. He was sold as a slave, where he prospered. He was lied about and throw into prison where he had favor. He interpreted the dreams of the king’s cup bearer and baker. Then he was forgotten again. When Pharaoh had a dream, two years later, the cupbearer remembered Joseph. Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dream and was put in charge of the whole land of Egypt.
Here are some of the attributes that helped Joseph to navigate the shifting seasons in his life.
- Joseph actually ruled within the corrupt system of the world.
- He knew how to submit to authority but not compromise.
- He honored those over him no matter what they believed or did. He respected the position not the actions of the person. This allowed God to honor him because he gave judgment of those positions over to God.
- He could forgive others for the wrongs that happened to him.
- He never allowed others attitudes toward him become his attitude. Instead, he trusted in God to work things to his good. This always allowed a hope for the future. He worked to please God which gave him favor with man.
- He had strength of character and was tender of heart.
- He trusted God to bring justice instead of taking on the offense of the injustices which have happened to him.
- He ruled out of humility and loved his brother unconditional in spite of what they had done to him.
- Joseph had the gift of administration. This gift is linked with rulership and the ability to oversee and direct others to execute responsibilities, with excellence and effectiveness.
- He has the ability to overcome walls or strongholds erected by people. Genesis 49:22-24 “His branches run over the wall.”
- He learned how to work within a corrupt system that worshiped a god other that Jehovah.
These are the attributes we need to excel in the world’s system. It is what opens doors for Christians to walk through shifting seasons of the unknown. It can release God’s Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.
Prayer
Father God,
You knew we were going to be born during this time and season we are living in. You have already provided what we need to be more than conquers. We ask for your wisdom and grace to navigate our world that will lead us to be victors and not victims. Your word says it only takes a little yeast to infiltrate the rest of the dough. This means, we can be use in this world system to bring God’s kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Help us to adjust our attitudes. We need peace in the midst of a storm. We ask for your supernatural wisdom, grace and peace to walk out your best for us. Thank you that you are in control no matter what it looks like in the world. We choose to trust you. Jesus is our King and He has made a way for us. Thank you for providing the Holy Spirit as our helper to walk through this new season. Amen!
