I had said to a friend that when we are in uncertain times, it is like walking through a minefield. You just need to keep your eyes on Jesus and step where He steps. Chuck Pierce, from Glory of Zion in Texas, said it this way. When walking in swamps it requires careful footing. The root system is different and requires finding the water source to drain the swamp.
God is using these uncertain times to reset our thinking and cause us to depend on Him. It is amazing how the world’s mindset creeps into our thinking. It causes us to focus on what the world thinks is important. I had quit my job working at a Veteran’s hospital. I had been looking for another job. Then I heard God say in my heart, “I don’t want you to work.” Then it hit me, that I had been looking for a job for over two years. I looked back over all my job applications and it didn’t make sense that I couldn’t find a job with my skillset. I thought but I have always worked. I didn’t realize how much my identity was tied to working.
When I finally decided to obey God and quit searching for a job, my finances increased. Interesting! Obeying God and having your identity tied to what He has called you to be releases blessing. Am I saying don’t work? No! The point of this story is all of us have mindsets that block God’s best for us. We think, this is what I have always done, or this is my skillset. This isn’t necessarily wrong, but it can be limiting. What has God called you to be and do?
Removing the World’s Fog from Our Thinking!
God is using these uncertain times to have us depend on Him. He wants to remove the fog of the world’s view. He is removing mindsets that have boxed us into places we do not fit in this season of our lives. Look at this time of confinement or confusion as a time to see what God is wanting to reveal to you. Find out what He had gifted you to do or what He wants to accomplish through you.
Stepping in the footsteps of Jesus requires spending time reading the Bible, having coffee with Him, and pulling back and waiting for Him to reveal His best path. In a world of fast foot and quick results, taking time to sit still requires patience. The reward for waiting is peace and insight to the right path in a world full of chaos.
May you find Jesus and walk in Him footsteps to your path of destiny!
