To recap part one, God is using all this chaos around the COVID-19 virus to bring down the Babylon system that has taken over our land. He is allowing this shifting to bring a distinction between the different mountains of influence and cultures. People are finding their tribes or people groups. This worldly system is based on the love of money and socialism. God is using this virus to correct our paths back to His destiny and plans. God is removing the cancer that is eating away at His Body of Christ and healing us. Boundaries are changing and we do not fit in the old places anymore.
Circles of influence or as some people call it the “1Seven Mountain” are broken down into different spheres of influence. They are Business, Arts & Entertainment, Media (Communication), Education, Family, Religion and Government. We all have a different place where we live and have influence. The religious mountain is only one mountain. You can look at it as cultural differences. Shouting and dancing may be acceptable in the religious circles and entertainment, but it wouldn’t translate well in the business mountain.
The religious mountain is where we have seen people called into ministry and sent out to go fulfill that call or purpose. This is a sound practice for the church, but it did not migrate to the other six mountains of influence. One of the reasons for this is because most people assumed the religious mountain was over all the other six mountains of influence. This is not the whole picture. The religious mountain is called to make disciples. A disciple is a follower of Jesus who abides by Jesus’s rules. The religious mountain gives us the standards and foundations we are take into the other spheres of influence. Just as an ambassador represents the county they come from; we represent Jesus in every sphere of influence we are assigned.
Kingdom of God Mountain — Shaddai
Psalm 91:1 in The Passion Translation says: “When you sit enthroned under the shadow of Shaddai, you are hidden in the strength of God Most High.” Shaddai is a name of God which can mean “God of the Mountain.” It has other meanings, but this highlights that God has a mountain named “Kingdom of God.” I see this as God being over the other seven mountains. Why is this important? Not understanding this Kingdom of God mountain is why we have not had the power to influence the world systems.
To understand the religious mountain, you need to know that it includes all religions not just Christianity. This means all five major religious groups, which are Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Christianity are included in this mountain of religion. We all have met people who were so into following the laws of their god that they were mean, miserable, and hard to get along with.
Jesus was raised in the church and stayed connected until He was called outside the religious system to fulfill His call. Jesus healed a man’s shriveled hand on the Sabbath in a synagogue. The religious leaders were furious and began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus. After this healing, most of his ministry was outside the church. It was then that he chose the twelve apostles. Jesus came against the man-made structure of religion and brought back the love of God for all people. He ate with sinners, talked with Samaritan women, and turned water into wine. He walked in a depth of love that set the captives free. When he was around those trapped by sin, they had the power to turn and walk in a right direction for their lives.
Am I telling you to disregard your church? No! Every Christians have access to the kingdom mountain. Their assignment will be where they have influence in the culture. I go to church for fellowship, for insight on how to fulfill God’s plan for my life, and I give to my church. I am trying to explain why we feel the pressure of dissatisfaction when we try to use our gifts in the wrong mountain. We need to find our people group where we fit and function. Remember, eyes need to be with eyes, teeth need to be with teeth, etc. You put me in with a bunch of people who talk football, and it is a foreign language to me. Our school was too small to have a football team. If you ask me how to change the toxic atmosphere in an office, I can talk to you for hours on the different strategies required to accomplish this feat. The church is your family not necessarily where you are to use your gift.
We ALL have a Place of Influence!
We ALL have a place of influence. Mechanics, gardeners, teachers, mothers, etc. all have people they influence. Few are called to full time religious mountain places. Everyone else has a call to bring God’s kingdom into their places of influence. Even if you are planted in a hostile environment, you have power to influence through your prayers and how you react to circumstances. Joseph and Daniel proved you can work through any environment. Turning the other cheek releases the power of God. Stephen proved this when he laid down his life and it turned a Saul, who murdered Christians, into Paul, the apostle of God.
God is using these chaotic times to bring us back to His destiny and plans. He is removing the false idols of the love of money and other things rooted in the worldly influences. Boundaries are changing and we do not fit in the old places anymore. You can feel the pressure of dissatisfaction and differences. We need to find our people group to fit and function in God’s kingdom. God’s kingdom is placing Jesus first even before all the good things in our life. Our hearts are crying out to be a part of the bigger picture. We need to be willing to step out into new unfamiliar areas. God is expanding His kingdom and He needs willing vessels who will go 2“where no man has gone before.” Are you willing?
Prayer
Father God,
Help! All this confusing and chaos. I repent for any part that I had in building the world’s system. I want what is Your best plan for my life, my family, friends, and community. I am not sure where or how to connect. I want to be in the right place at the right time. I need to know how to let go of those who are not going the same direction that You have for me. I need to connect to the right people group so that my gifts will be used to build Your kingdom. I am asking for Your wisdom and strength to do this. I am willing to let go and move on.
This isn’t just for my benefit, but I am asking for my circle of influences. We all need to be connected to our people group so that we can have Your best in our lives. Remove the agreement of the world’s view from us and cause us to see what Your paths are for us. Forgive us for allowing any access of this tree of knowledge of good and evil to dictate our viewpoint. We want to see how Jesus sees. In Jesus’s name, amen!
