I think this is one of the main reasons for broken relationships (and I’m not just talking about male/female relationships – marriage etc. this could also apply to friendships). We expect a particular person to fulfill an empty spot within ourselves that can only be fulfilled by Jesus. When that particular person is unable for whatever reason, we become disillusioned, offended or betrayed and we close the door to that relationship and walk away looking for fulfillment in something or someone else.
